Can I use my saved games from Star Wars™ Empire at War regular edition with the Gold Pack version, and vice versa?
No. Gold Pack save games are not compatible with the retail release and vice versa. There is no workaround.
I cannot install the patches into the games in the Star Wars™ Empire at War Gold Pack.
The Gold Pack already includes all available updates. The patch you are trying to use is for the standalone expansion, not the Gold Pack.
IRQ Conflicts
We recommend that you check to assure that your network adapter, video card, and sound card are not sharing the same IRQ. To check for this:
- Right click on the "My Computer" icon on your desktop.
- Select "Properties" from the menu.
- Select the "Device Manager" tab.
- Double click the "Computer" entry at the top of the device list. This should bring up the "IRQ Resource" window.
If your network card is sharing an IRQ with your video or sound card, you may need to physically move your sound or network card in order to resolve the IRQ conflict. Please refer to your motherboard documentation or system manufacturer for instructions on moving and installing hardware into your system.
Low-end Graphics Card Issues
When using a low-end graphics card, you may experience the following issues when playing the game:
- Performance may be slow in some areas.
- You may see flickering graphics.
- Textures may be missing or they may display incorrectly.
You may experience poor performance or lock ups after selecting any Screen Resolution above 1024x768. If this occurs, we recommend that you select a lower resolution.
Performance issues when running the program on low-end systems.
When running the game on a low-end system or a system with the minimum amount of RAM, you may experience some stuttering in the sound and graphics. This usually happens if other programs are running or your system resources are low. Freeing up system resources or memory may improve performance.
When I attempt to install or view bonus content after installing Star Wars™ Empire At War Gold Pack, the bonus content button is not working.
Simply close and reopen the launcher to correct this.
Why is there no sound in the game's launcher?
The game's Launcher may occasionally have no sound. When this happens, it usually affects the rest of the game. Windows may still be using your sound card from the last application you were running. Rebooting the computer should correct this. If rebooting does not correct this, your sound card may not be set up correctly in Windows.
