Error Unsupported Marker Type
This error is generally caused by a problem with the saved game, a corrupt install, or due to certain 3rd party mods for the game. To correct this issue, please uninstall the game and then reinstall the game to a new directory location (such as C:\JK2) using the Custom Install option, so it is a clean install.
Install the Jedi Outcast™ 1.04 update (available here).
We have received reports of issues using some saved games made with the original version of the game (1.02a) with the updated version (1.03), so if you install the 1.03 update we recommend that you try starting a new game, and then use a cheat code to jump to the level that you were playing.
To jump levels:
Start a New Game at any difficulty setting you want. Hold down the Shift key and press the tilde key (~) to access the command console. In the console, type "devmap levelname". For instance, type "devmap kejim_base" and then hit enter to jump to the 2nd level of the game. Here are the names of the levels in the game (to be used in the above command):
kejim_post; kejim_base; artus_mine; artus_detention; artus_topside; yavin_temple; yavin_trial; ns_streets; ns_hideout; ns_starpad; bespin_platform; bespin_undercity; bespin_streets; cairn_bay; cairn_assembly; cairn_reactor; cairn_dock1; doom_comm; doom_detention; doom_shields; yavin_swamp; yavin_courtyard; yavin_final;
Note:
The level jump code will only give you access to the Bryar pistol and the stun baton or lightsaber. If you want immediate access to the other weapons in the game after jumping to a level, bring up the console once more (shift ~), and type "helpusobi 1", and hit enter to enable cheats. Then type "give all" and hit enter to give yourself all weapons, full ammo and full life & shields. Press the tilde key (~) once more to close the command console.
I am getting a message, "Out of Virtual Memory" when running the program in Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
When playing the game on a 256MB system with Windows 2000 or XP, you may see an Out of Virtual Memory Error while playing or when exiting this game. This occurs in part because of the higher memory requirements for Windows 2000 and XP. We recommend that you exit the game and reboot your computer to clear the memory before playing again. If the problem persists, you may want to adjust your Page file settings to allow Windows to start the game with more virtual memory. Consult Windows Help for information on how to do this.
How do I fix the CL_ParsePacketEntities Error I am getting when I try to play?
This error occurs in multiplayer if you are using a cracked executable (NO-CD crack, illegal warez version of game). You need the executable from the Jedi Academy or Jedi Outcast™ CD and not the bootlegged one. Uninstall and then reinstall the game from the original CD, and do not install any no-cd cracks to allow you to run the game without the CD.
I am getting a CD-ROM access error message when attempting to launch the game.
Steps for troubleshooting this issue can be found here.
I am getting a Server Disconnected Message in my online game.
Some reasons this may occur include:
- You may have changed settings in the Video Setup screen between matches after readying yourself for the map change. If this occurs, you should be able to re-join the game through the
- Join Server screen.
- You may have been voted out of the game.
- You may have been disconnected from your ISP. If this occurs, you will need to exit the game to check that your Internet connection is still valid.
- The server may have been taken down or disconnected at the source.
I get a message, "Could not Load OpenGL Subsystem" when I try to launch Jedi Outcast™.
If this occurs, please check the following before trying to start the game:
- First, make sure that your particular video card is supported. This title requires a 16MB OpenGL PCI or AGP 3D Hardware accelerated card.
- Make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card. If you are unable to resolve the video problems you are experiencing, please contact your hardware manufacturer regarding the latest OpenGL compatible drivers available.
- If you are using a video card that supports dual monitors, the secondary monitor must be disabled for OpenGL to initialize correctly.
- Make sure the 3D hardware acceleration is turned all the way up. You can check this by going through Analyze your Computer, which is accessible through the Help option in the launcher menu.
